One of the recent additions to the Canadian Oxford Dictionary is the term: 'Double-double' which every Canadian understands. In the Star article linked above, they did a mini 'Talking to Americans' to see what would happen if you ordered a DD in the states. My favourite of the quotes they included (which also made me think of Adam):
"Doesn't make any sense to me," said Steve Williams, who works at Mojo's Daily Grind in Austin, Tex. "If you came in and asked for that, I'd say, `what the f--- are you talking about?' "This is a coffee shop, man, you don't put cream and sugar in your coffee," he added. "You want something like that, you get a skirt drink like a mocha."
I especially like the term 'skirt drink'. Let's get that one into the dictionary!
